Do I need to sew anything?
No. The loop panels are peel and stick, and the patches attach with hook-and-loop backing. Sewing is optional.
What surfaces do the loop panels stick to?
Peel-and-stick panels hold best on clean, dry, flat surfaces. Test a small area on your gear first, since results depend on the material. If you're not sure it will hold, sew the patch on instead.
Can I sew the patch on instead?
Yes. You can sew the patch on for a permanent hold, or use stitching together with the hook-and-loop backing for extra durability.
How do I sew it on?
Place the patch where you want it and stitch around the border, just inside the edge. We don't recommend sewing through the hook backing itself, since it can dull or damage a needle. Knot the thread off on the back when you finish.
What stitch works best?
By hand, use a running stitch or a whip stitch about 1/8 inch from the edge. By machine, a straight stitch around the border works well. Go slowly for even stitches.
What thread color should I use?
Thread that matches the patch border blends in for a clean look. Use a contrasting color if you want the stitching to show.
Are the patches reusable?
Yes. With the hook-and-loop backing you can peel a patch off and reattach it to other gear.
Are these forward or reverse flag patches?
Forward. The stars are on the left. Reverse patches have the stars on the right and are traditionally worn on the right shoulder so the flag appears to move forward.
How do I attach the patch without sewing?
Peel and stick a loop panel onto a clean, dry surface on your gear, then press the patch onto it. You can also press the patch onto a plate carrier, tactical pack or cap panel that already has a loop surface.
Can I move it to other gear later?
Yes. Peel the patch off the loop surface and press it onto any other loop surface.
What colors are available?
Red, Gray & Blue; Black & Gray; Tan & Olive; Army Green & Black; and Military Green. Army Green & Black is the lighter green. Military Green, the last color, is the darker green.
