I'm a security specialist and I spend a lot of time outside in all kinds of weather. Yesterday my notebook got completely soaked when a pipe on a water pump blew up and I was called to investigate if it was an accident or if someone cut the 3 inch canvas line. It was an accidental blow out. In case anyone cares. Yet myself and the notebook got soaked. Yet I still had to take several pages of notes and I had to draw a diagram of the accident scene along with taking pictures. I used the pen that was included and the paper in the notepad acted like it was dry. No smudging no ripping. It just worked. My supervisor was watching me write my notes and asked me about it. He went to the office and ordered 6 notebooks and pens for all 32 of us. We were both that impressed with how well it worked. Not to mention that I'm always out in cold and wet weather. I don't anticipate any problems with these notebooks or included pens. Plus the one thing I really noticed, the pens don't freeze inside the -40 chiller freezer that I have to patrol for 30 minutes twice a day and write down several pressure guage readings. Every pen I've used up until this pen. I would have to keep inside my parka because they would freeze if I didn't. If I had anything negative to say about it. The pen is a bit heavy. Yet in itself. That's really not a big deal.

I was nervous because I haven't actually seen waterproof paper in person. This paper is very tear resistant-I was unable to tear it while dry. It was in fact waterproof and didn't get ruined when wet. The pen can even write on the paper under running water. The paper is easier to tear while wet but it tears in clean straight lines. I am very happy with this product, especially for the price!!

This doesn't write as well or smoothly as it appears in the pictures and videos on the product page, but I'm never going to be writing under water, just in the rain and snow.
I don't know if there are other brands that are better, but this is still way better than trying to write on regular paper in wet weather. And if I ever do need to write in the bathtub or pool, I'm covered =)
For six notebooks and two pretty good pens this is not a bad deal.

There's another brand out there that we all know of and what I can say is that these work just as good as those. I will say Write in the rain's paper is thicker and will last longer but these do work. If if you're in a major down pour this not pad probably will fall apart like regular paper. But that's extreme. For the most part these do the job. Not as well but they work well.
